There is no way in which gravity could produce a string of galaxies. This is an overwhelming confirmation of the Electric Universe model.

Howso Gung and why do you suppose it wasn't mentioned in the article

@dalehileman,
The EU thesis positively predicts strings of galaxies while the standard gravity-only cosmology cannot explain them. The author of the article was not aware of this.

Strings of galaxies are not formed by gravity. They are formed by cosmic Birkeland currents and the electromagnetic pinch points of such currents.

@gungasnake,
Thanks Gung but could you explain to the satisfaction of the Average Clod (me) why it's suddenly thought the entire Universe is electrical

The "electric universe" model, also known as plasma cosmology, is not well accepted, largely because it cannot account for much of the data. From Wikipedia:

Quote:
Plasma cosmology is a non-standard cosmology whose central postulate is that the dynamics of ionized gases and plasmas play important if not dominant roles in the physics of the universe beyond the Solar System. Some general concepts about plasma cosmology have been attributed to Hannes Alfvén, who was awarded the 1970 Nobel prize for inventing magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). Alfvén proposed the use of plasma scaling to extrapolate the results of laboratory experiments and space plasma physics observations and scale them over many orders-of-magnitude up to the largest observable objects in the universe. Plasma cosmology is rejected by astrophysicists and cosmologists because, as described by its proponents, it does not provide as well-matched an account of the observations of astrophysical and cosmological phenomena as the accepted astrophysical and cosmological theories do.

Gunga Dim is always drawn to any non-standard "science," probably because he thinks it makes him look knowing and wise. He seems to be gripped by a puerile need to reject standard science in the same way that adolescents rebel against authority simply because it is authority.

Wikipedia is an immensely valuable resource for any topic for which no controversy could plausibly exist. For anything else, including this case, Wikipedia is totally worthless and the reasons for that are well known.

@gungasnake,
Oh? What would those reasons be, Gunga Dim? Are they being paid to lie? Is it because they hate Serbs and Putin? Spill, Gunga . . .

Reading S. above I can only conclude that the theory doesn't maintain everything's electrical, only that electricity plays a bigger part than thought before

@dalehileman,
Birkeland currents generally occur in twisted, helical pairs like DNA/RNA strings and many of the galaxy strings you observe, actually retain that helical formation of their origin:

Sort of like a spring or a cork-screw. Again, the electrical universe thesis not only is compatible with this but actually predicts it.

On the other hand, the standard gravity-only cosmology which Setanta and his ilk stupidly adhere to cannot be reconciled with strings of galaxies occuring in helical alignments.

@dalehileman,
You might want to ask Setanta about the avator, the rumor is that the little dog is actually him....

@dalehileman,
There's a great deal more to it than that. You might want to start exploring around www.thunderbolts.info for starters.
