GMAIL -- having to delete messages twice...

recently i've had to re-delete gmail messages that i already deleted.

it's not computer-specific -- i'm seeing it on two PC's (Win Pro 7 / IE9 & IE11).

any ideas?

i can live with it, but i'm wondering if there's an easy fix.

Do they happen to be messages associated with any filters, auto deletes, labels or other such customizations?

They've done several updates to go the chrome and gmail this week. In doing so, one of your settings may have been overwritten.

it's a tertiary account that i barely use.
no customization, no filters.

for the past week or so, messages re-appear in the inbox within minutes of either archiving or deleting them...

I've seen sporadic instances of errors like that in GMail, but they never seem to last long so I haven't really worried about them. I remember for a while there I couldn't empty my Junk Mail folder without actually going to the GMail web interface and deleting things there.

Normally I use MacMail as an IMAP client for my Gmail accounts.

But I'm not seeing any errors with GMail at the moment.

it just happened again --

i delete a message, and a few minutes later the tab shows a (1) even though the inbox is empty.
i do a refresh, and the message i deleted is back in the inbox.
a second delete seems to delete it permanently...

Are you using the web interface or a program? IMAP or POP?

i may have fixed it by disabling a POP setting that saved a copy of a message in the inbox...

Let me know if it works. I don't use the web interface very often, so I'm not very familiar with it.

Have you tried a different browser to access the web page? Try Chrome and see if it works better.

haven't had to double-delete in a while.
