Aloha Pueo,

Am in Boston (brrrrrr )with Merry Andrew toughing out the winter but will be heading back out to the South Pacific Rim soon. Miss the palm trees and lava beds and black sand beaches.

So was I, and just decided to see how many people I could could make look.

Actually, I was thinking how lucky we were to have people like FBM to keep us up to date on North/South Korea issues, nimh to fill us in on demonstrations in Hungary, and pueo to keep us informed on B-52 activity on Guam when tensions ran high in the Far East.

@roger,
I read the first few pages of this thread and dipped in here and there. Sometimes I wish I had been here back in those days, it seems so much more peaceful and happier. Threads didn't seem to degenerate into slanging matches and political or religious rants. Even when there were insults they were given - and taken - in good humour.

I'm not suggesting there were never any disagreements - I'm sure there must have been - but the general feel is a lot more relaxed.

@roger,
I was in the US Air Force back in the late 1950's and worked on those B52's loading nukes on them. That was in my youth, but I still remember some of the activities while in the military. My love of world travel began in those days when the Air Force stationed me in Morocco for one year, and I got the chance to visit Madrid, Paris and London. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
