basement metal framing

I've built my walls around the perimeter of the basement. I plan on drywalling the ceiling. Should I have used a top plate on top of my top metal channel? I'm going to use 2x4s on the flat on the ceiling to attach the drywall to. The way it is now, I wont have nailing at the top of the wall for the drywall. Unless I hang the drywall on the walls first, then put up 2x4s on the ceiling, then drywall ceiling. Is that an option or not?

I'm starting to plot finishing the basement on my (hopefully) new house, so will be interested in seeing responses. I've already asked a friend of mine who finished his basement for tips, will pass those on if they look helpful.

Good luck!
