Factor Analysis Sample Size Question

I have a 32-item scale and I need to determine sample size for an EFA and a CFA (split-half) based on estimated parameters x 10. I have tried for days to figure out how to do this. I know I need the factor loadings, error variances, covariances, and estimated factors (I'm thinking 5), but I can't figure them out. Any help or a solution would be much appreciated! Thank you!
