Normally, the elks used as models for paintings come from the McTavish herd, and so the elk's surname would almost certainly be Mc Tavish.

I happen to like elk in gatherings.

The good news is that many people play at some point with drawing or painting, and some of those people might have been interesting at it past themselves re what ever was going on at art then. Mostly nothing got noticed re what many people drew or painted.
To get noticed, you have to be drawing (etc) where some cares.

That sounds bitter, but is essentially true.

The Elks Club here in Hilo, HI hosts some quite good concerts and other social functions open to non-members as well. Sunday football games on big-screen TV, for example; and the bar prices are quite reasonable.
