doubt regarding the design of dc bushings.

hiii everyone,
i am doing my masters degree with High Voltage Engineering as specialization.
i am doing my project on design of dc bushings. I am searching for literature but rarely do i get those materials.
i have a doubt regarding the theoretical calculations of the design of bushings.
i only got the material for the design of ac bushings but i cannot find for dc bushings.
please help me in this.
i should find the electric stress imposed on the bushings
how can i calculate the number of foils(cap) to be placed in the bushings.(grading)
how can we calculate the length of the core.
the ratings for the bushing are 1MV,15A

@nunnabaskar,
Are you talking about bushings or brushes? The generator bearings are not electrically active in the power plants I've worked.

@roger,
@roger
i am talking about bushings which are used in the dc transmission network.
they can be wall bushings or converter transformer bushings ..

Are we talking about "insulators" here?

@Wilso,
Sounds at least as plausible as bushings or bearings.

Apparently so, Wil. I am wondering incidentally what makes a dc bushing different from an ac bushing

Yea admittedly too lazy to Google it but thanks for that link. Would we suppose the difference has something to do with the greater attraction of dc for airborne particulates

I certainly don't know that there is any difference. But I'm not an engineer, so my working life hasn't been spent thinking about such things.

Maybe, Wil, Nunn will enlighten us
