I'm gonna be 17 in like two weeks. My parents smoke pot and abuse me. I've tried to go to counselors (school/government), principles, friends, DFS, cops. Nothing works, I have ran out of ideas. What should I do.

@PUNKEY,
Ok, well i'll say this. The abuse has been going on since I was in 5th grade. I'm now in 11th. I've broken the law several times since I was in 5th grade, but some how some way I always end right back in the same situation.

@skp,
Contact a lawyer (surely you are familiar with them if you've broken the law as often as you claim) and ask about suing for emancipation.

Be prepared to find your own housing and pay all your bills.

@skp,
Well then wait until you're 18 and move out. You've made it this far, what's another year?

Edit: Make sure you're out of high school as well as being 18.

@chai2,
wouldn't I be able to enroll myself into another school when I'm 18 right?

@chai2,
The reason why I asked if I'd be able to enroll myself into school when I turn 18 is because I have a fiancee and a son that I could move in with until I got a job.

@skp,
how would you support yourself if you're still in school?

Keep below their radio, play it cool and stay out of their way. If you've gotten yourself in trouble, knock that **** off so they aren't on your ass, and so you don't do something stupid after you're 18, that will be on your record and keep you from getting good work.

Graduate high school so you can get a decent job, then move out.

What's going on now all of a sudden that makes it so much worse than the past? If it's no worse, tough it out.

@skp,
Just read this.

How do you know you'll still be with this guy when you're 18?

Also, do you want to go from one dependant situation to another?
Why would you want to trade one situation for another one where you are not able to provide for yourself?

Put yourself in a position where you would be able to take care of your and your childs needs for yourself. That means getting out of school and getting a job.

@chai2,
If I was to end it with her I would of done did it because of personal reasons, the same with her. So I really dont plan on anything happening or i should say i seriously doubt anything will happen.

@skp,
Don't get off the point.

You didn't answer my question from before. Has anything changed recently that makes your staying until you are out of high school and 18 unrealistic?

If so, what has changed?

If possible, tough it out, get out of school and get a job and move out.

@skp,
So then there you go, you're going into the military as soon as you can. Which means finishing high school and being 18.

Stay were you are if you can until you go into the military, get education from them and start a good life on your own, and support your kid.

@skp,
So report them to CPS

You may be taken out of the home, but soon you'll be 18 and out of school, and can join the military.
