The Rutz Clovis point is an almost 10" long Paleo Indian point that was found near the community of Badger Creek Springs (Washington). The blade is made of an unusual form of dark"sea" green obsidian. It was sold at an artifact auction in Denver Pa in late Nov 20113,. The prices for many of the artifacts were what I conider "Bubble high". Something has happened to the antiques market again and certain commodities are again being priced out of a level of reality just because some collectors are feeling "flush " again.

It is a famous artifact where much has been written over it since its discovery in the 1950's. I went to the auction to see the thing and take a few pix but I was amazed at the number of dealers who were bidding . The bidder who won was a dealer on the phone.
(Much of our ancient patrimony is being exported to collectors in Asia.)

HERES A FULL SIZE PICTURE OF THIS BEAUTY
