There is one aspect of this conundrum that has not even been considered, or even touched upon. We need to have our premises understood by all concerned. The fallacy in this entire thread lies with the word "wood". Which wood? Hardwood, soft wood, pine, mahogany, birch, elm?

In order to understand, we need to define the entire range of possibliities. Another variable that has never been addressed is, Are we speaking of male or female woodchucks? Young chucks, adults or seniors?

I think that if these variables are not defined and clarified, we can NEVER
come to a logical conclusion that would pass any scientific muster.

Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?[/b]

look - you take, at random - 1,000 woodchucks and 1,000 cords of wood - and see how many the woodchucks chuck in an hour - that'll be your average woodchuck hour...

Phoenix, it's like going to the doctor. If he charges you $100 for diagnosing your pharyngeal rhinitis, you're not surprised--if he charged you that for telling you you have a cold, you'll be outraged. Easier to sell marmot than woodchuck coats . . .

ehBeth- An interesting scientific point. The fungal growth could cause allergies in the woodchucks. Therefore you need to allow for sneezing time when you calculate the gross amount of chucking!

The calculation of the average - if one sampled truly randomly - would already include these variables, she said through her teeth..

Well, what about the performance space? Is the Marmota Monax to chuck indefinitely into infinite space? Is there a support team to produce cord wood within the performance space, to clear off chucked wood? So many questions . . .
