Thank you for the welcoming messages Merry Andrew, ragman, Misti26, Margo!, EhBeth (colourful!), and msOlga of Oz who unknowingly lured me into abuzz two years ago with the 'favorite evil characters from literature' thread!
(What a romp that was!) Not to overlook larryBS -- the Mencken quote about fear is terrific! It reminds me of the point made in Michael Moore's 'Bowling for Columbine' which I saw a few days
ago.

c.i.,
Your trip this spring should be marvellous and I'm certain that you and your wife will enjoy the trans-Canada train tour. I hope you will be able to leave the train from time to time. A friend who travelled from Montreal to Vancouver said that it was important to make stops for at least overnight. I've seen photos taken in Jasper, in the mountains. Lovely!!

Seatlefreind, ragman, welcome ... glad to see you posting.

ragman, if you want politics, try the Politics Forum: http://able2know.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=21

There's Consumer Electronics, too, which you might not only enjoy but "Spark Up" a little: http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=62

Thanks to all who just welcomed me.

FYI, I tend to avoid political discussions as they almost always shed more heat than light.

I prefer humor, science, art - not always in that order.

We're all insane - most recognize the fact and compensate.

Welcome to Oz Seattlefriend and Ragman!

Sanity, like normality, is relative! Confused (and I have some odd relatives!)
More sanity here than in the political threads Laughing

Good comment ragman, heat, rather than light!
