I've always lived by that 'ole saying of computers, "garbage in, garbage out!" Mine is mostly, if not all, garbage except the "0" and "1". c.i.

You know of course that no computer is ever right. They only eliminate all of the wrong answers possible in close to light speeds and simply leave the remaining answer for us to ponder.

Good point, Danon. But, then, I'm reminded of Sherlock Holmes' famous dictum -- When you have eliminated all that is impossible, whatver remains -- no matter how improbable it seems -- must be right.

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MEMBERS!
WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MEMBERS I'VE MISSED SAYING THAT TO!

Ridinghood - I just saw your post on "Practicing." Please stay; you're among friends. Lots of us old Abuzzards here. It is different - nicely so. Takes a little getting used to. I remember you "from the other place." You'll like the content and especially the responses. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, too! Give it a chance, won't you?

Looking forward to seeing you in the forums! Charli

A big hello from Seattlefriend
Hi friends!

I finally registered here, thanks to several invitations, and especially thanks to the patient invitations from mmediane!

My life is very busy and a little chaotic right now, but I do want to keep in touch with you. I see many familiar names here and that makes me feel welcome already. It will be fun to explore this forum and to encounter old friends from abuzz.

Hi
That was a quick reply, Roger! Thanks for the welcome.
I'm working a lot and I like to spend my free time at the library, so I might not appear here very often. That said, I want to say that it's nice to be here and to see that you all are still feisty!!

Hi c.i.!

You are the traveler, as I remember. Where have you gone this year, or last?

Do you know anything about the 'human shield' project? I've read that people from several countries are going/or have gone/or will go to Iraq to stand with the people of Iraq when/if the U.S. attacks the country.

I wonder how many people have gone there already and how many more are expected. I also wonder if the U.S. leaders are taking note.

Hi seattlefriend, In December 2001, I went to India and Nepal. In March of last year, I took my sister to Egypt and Jordan. In April, I went to South Africa with some retired professors I met in April 2001 to Tanzania and Kenya. In November, I went on a 12 night cruise to South America. It sailed from Valparaiso, Chile, down around Cape Horn, and up to Buenos Aires, Argentina. On April 30, I'll be on my way to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. Then in August, my wife and I will be taking the Trans-Canada Train Tour from Montreal-Toronto, to Vancouver. *** I think there's about 50 (or more) human shields now in Iraq. Haven't kept up with the latest numbers, but people keep on a ratation. so it's difficult to tell how many are there on any one day. GWBush doesn't care about the peace demonstrations or polls. I doubt anything will change because of the human shields in Iraq, but you can be sure the Bush government will be charging them with some kind of crime. c.i.

cjh, That's your interpretation. I'm sure those people acting as human shields in Iraq have different ideas. c.i.
