I know you don't belive me but I swear it's true

LOL I believe you gordy. Here in the states we have the Food Network. A few months ago, they featured a restauraunt that served exactly what you said...deep fried candy bars. They even deep fried Twinkees!

Talk about fattening! People on the show loved those things. I think it's gross myself and have no desire to try it.

Liver isn't food.

hey, the problem with liver is 'biblical'

people tend to 'crucify' it rather than cook it gently to a rare delicacy; and, smothered in fried mushrooms and onions, and yes, if you wish, a nice cheese sauce (especially if served with cauliflower)....
aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

mmmmmm liver

lightly cook up a little smoked bacon, saute a big vidalia onion in the drippings, layer chicken livers over top, and then sliced apples - throw a lid over top and let it all simmer together. the caramelized onions and sweet liver infused with the apple flavour. paradise. mmmmmmmmmm.

if any of the liver is left over for another meal, smush it onto a good piece of sour rye bread, put a piece of swiss cheese on - your eyes will roll back in pleasure.

I like chocolate coughdrops.
You can get them in Sainsbury's. Wee choccy things that are hard like candy but they taste of chocolate.

Thanks for the liver tips. Not only am I now drooling all over my keyboard, I wish I could try those chocolate coughdrops. Too bad that I don't have a cold anymore...

off topic question... ehBeth? What in the world is your icon? Out of the corner of my eye I thought it to be a squirrel. Now, I don't know what it could be.

I don't know what to say. I guess that it all depends on the consumer. I wouldn't fry my choco... frying is what stores do to food that went bad... in my opinion... in order to sell it. It tastes good but the inner flavor is lost.

I doubt if you could have mistaken ebeth's dogs for a squirrel, so if you are asking about mine, it's a hoary marmot I encountered at Denali National Park last summer.

I have been pregnant twice, and I never could have stomached liver with chocolate then! In fact I was not sure I was pregnant until I ordered shrimp scampi (one of my all-time favorites) and discovered that I could not tolerate even the smell of garlic.

it seems garlic (good for what ails ya; vampires to heart ailments) can even be, when consumed liberally, by only one of the 'participants', an effective birth control device. Shocked

Mhatte-Rhaye - my earlier avatar was my two dogs snoozing on the sofa together. I'm back to 'wearing' my regular avatar, known around here as the deerhuahua. Very Happy

If you could eat either cheese or chocolate, which would you choose?

Personally, I would take the cheese any day. In fact, a few weeks ago I ate two blocks of cheese in one day, one for lunch and the other for dinner...YUM!

Dark chocolate - the higher the percentage of cocoa, the better and I prefer the good stuff!
