Are construction workers easy to talk to?

@Equestrianforlife7xo,
You know, ponygirl.....I hate to say this, but you sort of impress me with your staying power.
It's not often that a teenager comes along and puts up with a lot of ribbing (joshing, I think you 'Mericans call it) and sticks around.
You went to the edge on several occasions and had a bit of a stamp and a strop, but I think that it is to your credit that you've kept it clean and straight in most of your response.
All you need to develop now is a really weird sense of humour so you will fit in fine on A2K.
I'm one of the more sensible ones here (stop snorting at the back) and I see potential in you. Just think of it.....in a year or two, you could be as strange and wonderful as the rest of us.

I therefore promote you to ponylady.

@Lordyaswas,
I ain't no teenager... Just think of it. How would you like to be the age 30(not saying that I'm 30) but referred to as a teenager...DESPISE that word. It's not pleasant hearing it. But I am honored to hear this from you, thank you.

@panzade,
In no rush to be 30, but 30 seems to be the ultimate perfect age. Being my preference.

From your first post on this thread, posted last month....."I'm 18 turning 19 this year before I graduate....."

Are you telling me that you were fibbing to us, PL?

MARVELLOUS!

You're starting to fit in already!

@Lordyaswas,
Hahaha. A 30 yr old would not still be attending high school.. I'm 18 yes, turning 19.

But hey I should have already made my welcome in after that outrageous 1 hour or so standing by the vicinity of the construction site watching the hunk and whatnot.

@Equestrianforlife7xo,
A little disingenuous on the age thing but you write well....

@panzade,
disingenuous? Looked it up, a brief definition but still don't understand. And you think? I feel like there's always room for improvement. I guess a tad over conscientious you could call me. It's annoying. I also feel like I should read more high-level books to increase my vocabulary. Sometimes I find myself at a loss of words due to my lack of extensive vocabulary. Plus, not knowing what some of the words mean that you people use. Very smart people using big words.

@Equestrianforlife7xo,
disingenuous

not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.

I think it's a word that encompasses your personality here. Not in a bad way...just the little games with your age.
In any case...English is a lovely, living, evolving language. It is my second language and I still get a thrill from learning new words..
And yes. If you're 19, you're writing way over your age. Trust me. You should see some of the posts 19 year-olds write on A2K

@panzade,
I find English, complicated. There's so much to it and so much you can expand on. Wow, talk about self-esteem boost. That felt so good. Thank you!

I heard, now this is a fact, that construction workers have excellent social skills. and having my writing skills complimented, if only social skills AND writing skills went hand- in-hand... I'd be on the brink of success to having a first conversation with a construction worker, would be no problem.

Try learning Spanish.
Every noun in Spanish is designated male or female by the last vowel in the word.
Talk about complicated

@Equestrianforlife7xo,
I think your fascination with a burly construction worker is a normal fantasy for a 19 year old, for many are reading bodice-rippers anyway.
The danger comes when you don't recognize the difference between fantasy and reality. Hopefully you will.

@panzade,
I'm not fantasizing. I'm looking more through a reality perspective than fantasy. No need to hope that I will, there's no doubt!

@panzade,
Games with my age? So essentially, the games with my age, I wasn't sounding sincere or was coming off as disingenuous? I don't understand the "typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does", plays into part here.

Anyone find anything of this bold man to be blasting this song? Really listen to the words. Not sure if I ever mentioned that particular day when I was out on the track(close to our end days of going out there) and he had the music so loud from his bobcat. Blown away by Carrie Underwood, and once that song had ended a part of Counting Stars continued on playing.

I've been hearing it more often on the radio and has been getting to me lately.

@Equestrianforlife7xo,
Counting Stars almost unseated Eminem's The Monster from the #1 position.
I find it a pleasant little '"ditty"
Pales in comparison to the news that Pete Seeger passed away.
He arranged the protest song "We Shall Overcome"
It's got a whole lot more "cred"
