A thought: if it's a big place, how are we going to find each other?

Naturally you'll recognize me - I'll be the one in black leather wielding a whip!

Cool, Tarah.

Also: KP looks like his picture, spookily so.
I look like my picture, but usually unhatted.
Gautam doesn't look like a toby jug.

When in doubt, if you go up to the bar and say in a loud voice "What are you having, then?" you will find I am the person standing right behind you.

That ought to do it.

I have some leftover hats from the San Francisco meet, I don't suppose they'd get there in time... (we women refused to wear them...)

Some of the attending members could wear those leftovers already .... since I've got some as well and handed them over already

Gautam, you don't need to know that.

Smile

BTW if you go to the link KP has given for Vinopolis, you will find a good map there-

It's on the South Bank, just downriver from London Bridge.

this is Fiona replying

My God Gautam you have changed a lot since I last saw you. That image has made me feel quite faint and considering I am not fully recovered from a most beastly heavy cold - considering delaying our departure by a day - I am not sure I feel strong enough to meet up on Monday!!!!!

Actually really looking forward to it and I should be recovered fully by then - just hope Mctag does not go down with it.

We will put one of the A2K hats (from a previous meet that Walter gave to us) on a stick and wave it over our heads and probably end up getting thrown out! So you won't be able to miss us - we'll be the heap outside the venue rubbing our bruises.

I know Vinopolis its big.. will try to be there BUT ....

Where will I find this dubious bunch? In the fruity reds or crisp whites with a hint of vanilla?

The Bar at Vinopolis is not so huge that we won't find each other there on a Monday night, I'm sure.

I'm not talking about wandering round the Museum, though we can move on to that, I suppose.

We had a great meeting. There was McTag and the lovely Fiona, KitchenPete and the even more lovely Gautam.

I was delighted to be a member of A2K before our meeting, and I'm doubly so now.

We were sorry Steve couldn't make it, but maybe next time.

Just got in to find my phone's out of order and the ever-reliable BT can't get an engineer here till Friday!

Agreed - it was a lovely evening.

Very good to meet Tarah and to see the McTags and Gautam after so long - I couldn't believe that it had been such a long time...no one had aged at all!

Conversation flowed, as did a moderate amount of wine.

Must dash again - far too busy at the moment!
