I would like to learn a little bit more about what we believe to be a Renoir lithograph of a young girl having "Tea Time". I came across the piece at an estate sale and thought it would fit perfectly with our home decor. The art piece came with a certificate of authenticity from Hinshaw & Richard LTD. Inscribed on the bottom-left side of the piece is the number 21/250 and a Renoir signature on the bottom-right. It looks like there may be an embossing that is hidden by the frame, located under the number 21/250.
We haven't been able to locate information about Hinshaw & Richard LTD, or any other pieces of this nature. Does anyone know of this piece of art or how I can contact Hinshaw & Richard, LTD. I've tried finding them on the internet but have not had much success. Thanks!
@Myartwork,
try posting a picture. Asking for opinions about artwork from description is like asking our opinions about a recipe without a taste (or buying a car over the internet)
There are some giveaways to see whether its a print in which an artist has had interaction or whetjer its massed produced. Then its a matter of verifying the print and the artists signature(and verifying the edition size )
@farmerman,
Hi Farmerman,
I wanted to add a pic but couldn't figure out how to put one up on this site. I'll look into how I can put one up. Thanks for your comments!
@Myartwork,
Renoir did a pile of lithos toward the end of his life , I have a book of em with the stone marks and the editions of a few that are of rural folks
@jcboy,
Thanks, Jcboy! Not exactly a Master piece as far as value goes, but I think I'll keep it hanging on my wall.
thanks!
