Help with identifying a piece of art and possible book

I was hoping for help with finding the source of this artwork (without the caption). Apparently it exists in a book, I need to know which book it came from...

If not how about the name of the artist? I can see a name in gold at the bottom left corner but am unable to read it...

Any information that can be provided about this art work would be of great value to me, it is for a very dear friend of mine...
