Size in guns is a factor, wee bunny, but there is "Throw Weight" as well; a relatively very much smaller gun delivering a large number of smaller rounds onto a target at a rate of a few hundred a minute can have effect equal or superior to that of a single projectile fired by a very much larger gun. That has a lot to do with why so old, unsophisticated a plane as the A-10 Warthog still has a job. Danon5's chainguns trump your own AK-47 and bazooka every time.
