Hello my daughters car was impounded for no insurance. She has insurance and got her car back the next day. Who is responsible for reimbursing her for the impound fee? Thanks in advance for any advice.

@ginderella,
State laws vary; nobody here can give better advice than a lawyer in your own state. But I would suggest that if your daughter did not have proof of insurance when she was cited, she is SOL.

@neologist,
Likely. I've seen judges forgive fines for no insurance upon proof of insurance when cited, but that is nothing more than a reasonable courtesy.

@roger,
Exactly, it's a courtesy. I've seen judges do that a lot, but there's no law that they have to.
