@FBM,
Because he can't comprehend it. (Isn't it always the way?)

@FBM,
BillRM is the same, but from the other side. He's an atheist because he can't comprehend God.

Not the best reason.

Comprehending a god would be to comprehend the supernatural, magical, transcendental, etc. I have to confess that I can't comprehend those things themselves, just the human constructs of them. I comprehend the concepts, but not what the concepts entail. For example, how there could be this being ostensibly outside the universe, other, and that being simply wills the entire universe into existence. I can type the words, but wtf do they actually mean in terms of reality outside the mind?

@Frank Apisa,
This is where causality starts to cross eyes. As you cannot have an infinite number of finite causes, either the first cause had no cause or the first cause is an infinite one.

Understanding "nothing":

Theists: Gawd did this! Gawd did that! Gawd sez this! Gawd sez that! Gawd wants you to do this! Gawd doesn't want you to do that! Gawd loves this! Gawd hates that! Gawd sez this because of this! Gawd sez this because of that!

Non-theist: What do you mean by "god," anway?

Who understands nothing, after all?

Hmmm... Usually it's the atheists saying theists can't take a joke...

@Leadfoot,
That's because nobody needs to point out it's a joke.

@izzythepush,
Then do you always respond to jokes with an insult?

@Leadfoot,
Because a joke should be funny. Yours wasn't and you had to point out that it was a joke. If you have to do that, there's no point, unless it's a face saving exercise which I suspect it might be.

I am amused by those who claim they cannot comprehend a God as if it was a statement of absolute rationality rather than limited perception.

Hey, if you don't buy that God exists, that's fine by me. It's certainly not, at all, a ridiculous position to take.

What is a ridiculous position to take is that because a great many people (including non-believers) have an infantile understanding of God, that ergo, God cannot exist.

@FBM,
When you stare into your hand for hours, does anything appear? no. Something has to create something. And in my world I believe it to be God.
