Dear Sir, i am looking for answering these questions in my experiments.
Please help me.

1. If we expect 4 counts per second in a photon counting experiments, what is the probability of getting 0 cps in any one second interval? 2 cps in any one second interval? 4 cps in any one second interval? What is the expected standard deviation associated with a mean of 4 cps?

2. If we have 20 data points and we fit two models to the data points, each with 5 parameters. Model 1 gives a residual sum of squares (RSS) of 35. Model 2 gives a RSS of 12. Is there a significant difference between these two models at P<0.05?
