Hi I have a mile that is light brown normal shape and is a little bit bigger than a pencil eraser. The only problem is that it has a brown dot in the middle and has a hair coming out? And it is also perfect shape side etc. it's never bled and itched maybe 2 times. I had my physical and the doctor didn't say anything but I didn't ask. I'm 14. Do I have skin cancer?

@Tampaul17,
I've had several basal cell skin cancers removed from my face and back, so I know how stressful it can get not knowing if that odd looking spot is normal or something cancerous.

The only way to know is to have it seen by a dermatologist. Show it to your parents and ask them if they think you should see a dermatologist for it. If the dermatologist thinks it looks suspicious, a biopsy will be done and examined for cancerous cells.

More than likely, it is just an everyday common mole and nothing to worry about, but something to keep an eye on.

@Butrflynet,
I haven't got many sunburns and I've had it for 1-3 years probably in between that. So what do you think now?

@Tampaul17,
Same advice, show it to your parents, tell them you are worried about it and ask if you should see a dermatologist.

@Tampaul17,
Well, if it ever changes shape or size, or starts bleeding, get attention for it.
