Have you ever questioned other peoples beliefs?

@igm,
Jesus, you must be psychotic. The proof that it's not incorrectly copied comes from the link i provided to the post. Did you even bother to follow the link? It's not a baseless accusation--you claimed that the post is not correctly copied (and have repeated that accusation), but i linked the post. Anyone can see that it has been correctly copied.

You whine about unsubstantiated, and yet you have repeatedly accused me of double posting. Provide the post numbers of the duplicated posts, or acknowledge that you have been lying.

You have no basis to say that i wouldn't understand. This is just another dodge as you try to weasel out of answering the question. I linked and quoted a post in which you wrote about enlightenment. The question is very simple. What do you mean by enlightenment? What evidence do you have that any such thing exists. Try answering the questions rather than attempting to avoid answering them.

@igm,
I care that you are attempting to weasel out of answering a simple question with anyone loony tactic you can employ. I care that you are being dishonest and won't admit it.

You seem equally unable to answer questions (what is enlightenment?) as you are to recognize answers to questions you have asked.

Do you expect me to explain what enlightenment is if you don't understand the term or will not say you understand the term... set has not admitted to understanding the term. He has again demonstrated he despises me and Buddhism so I'm extremely careful about the content of my replies.

What answers have I not recognized that I should of because they were clear enough to understand in your opinion?

@igm,
I care that you're being dishonest in this discussion, and using any feeble tactic you can dream up to avoid answering a simple question.

@igm,
It's bullshit to say that i have not admitted to understanding the term, as though i were being dishonest. I know what enlightenment means. What i don't know, what i am asking you, and what you are doing everything you can to avoid answering is what you meant by enlightenment when you responded to CI's post.

I answered on the previous page.

The rest of your insults are dreamed up by you out of spite.

You're being dishonest again. That was a response, but it was not an answer. I have repeatedly asked you what you mean by enlightenment. You have not answered the question. When it comes to insults, you take a back seat to no one.

Then say what it means I've been asking since your first post and now pages later you admit to knowing what it means.. if it's true that you know... tell me what you believe it means.

@Setanta,
I've already told you several times now I'll only accept your opening post as those comments are out of context with this thread and I've answered them as best I can until you explain your understanding of the term 'enlightenment' which you now admit knowing.

@igm,
What i understand by the word enlightenment is not the issue. The question, which, tediously, i will repeat once again, is what you mean when you say enlightenment. When you responded to CI, you wrote of enlightenment. What do you mean by that? It's not a difficult question, but you have been doing everything you can to avoid answering the question.

You have been saying i won't understand. Show your proof . . . and while you're at it, try answering the questino.

@igm,
The context of the thread is questioning other people's beliefs. My questions are specifically about your beliefs. They are not "out of context" at all. Once again, you're playing the online nazi and attempting to dictate what course the conversation can take. Answering the f*cking questions.

You can forget that ****, the question is what you mean when you say enlightenment.

Yes, I have.

reasoning logic wrote:
If you have questioned others beliefs what methodology did you use?

Socratic dialogue, revolving around questions such as "what evidence can you back this belief of yours up with?" and "wouldn't we understand the evidence just as well if we believed in some simpler hypothesis?"

What do you think about John Loftus's idea?

I consider it useful, but pretty obvious. I doubt that John Loftus was the first to come up with it.

Laugh if you want. The question is what you mean by enlightenment. This is yet another example of you doing everything you can to avoid answering the question.

I take a different view, namely that many others view these threads and have interest in the answers. That is why I take the time to answer your questions in spite of your argumentative schnookiness.

@Setanta,
Go away, I'm bored with your nonsense. I've answered your questions given the understanding you've shown. Take it or leave it or explain what your understanding of the term enlightenment is. I've explained how unless I know we are on the same page it would be pointless attempting such a thing.

You despise me and Buddhism think of all of this as a wind-up if that will help Wink

What kind of answers are you going to get when Setanta is asking about Buddhism? Read some of my posts to people who have a genuine interest in them before concluding in such a way... Setanta has set out to accomplish just such a comment as yours.

Uhh! Do you see Adam and Eve around anywhere?
What does that mean? They will not be resurrected in time for the 1000 yr test?
They are dead and will stay dead. No resurrection. Don't know where you got that idea.
Just dead.
No roasting, toasting, baking or broiling. No enlightenment, either.

How do you know that? You will be resurrected (so you believe) so why wouldn't they?

Quote:
God will extend his heavenly kingdom to include earth, which will be transformed into a paradise similar to the Garden of Eden. After Armageddon, most of those who had died before God's intervention will gradually be resurrected during "judgment day" lasting for one thousand years. This judgment will be based on their actions after resurrection rather than past deeds. At the end of the thousand years, a final test will take place when Satan is released to mislead perfect mankind. The end result will be a fully tested, glorified human race. Christ will then hand all authority back to God.
