Errrr, here i am! What is it that you want to read? General info is on government's web, along with links to other pages: http://www.government.gov.sk/english/slovakia.html
If you need something specific, holler. Oh year, there is an English language weekly, called Slovak Spectator. Good reporting, higly recommended.

Good mega-sites are
Internet Resources on Slovakia

Political Resources on the Slovac Republic

and the best in my opinion:

Slovaks and Slovia Home Page

There aren't a lot more, I suppose Sad

You may try these as well

Central Europe Review

TASR - News Agency of the Slovac Republic

Radio Slowakia International (English)

Slovakia Globe (about Slovacia, non-Slovacian origin!)

There are a few very good meta-news-sites online.

Two of the best are (IMHO!):

ABYZ News Links

and

KIDON Meta link

More useful links (I hope):

(had to edit this post, hadnt paid proper attention first time round)

1. Slovensko.com - News and discussion on Slovakia in English

2. I'll post a link to info on past Slovak elections on your other thread.

3. In addition to Walter's link I had the following too, but I now see that they were already listed on the www.ssees.ac.uk page you linked in, so nebbermind ...

Slovakia Document Store - Extensive archives of information
(I remember they provided an excellent range of data on the '94 and '98 elections - stuff like that was hard to find from abroad in 94 ...)

Slovakia.org, "the Guide to the Slovak Republic"
(bit doubtful about some of their rendering of slovak history ... but they got pretty galleries of pictures)

eTREND - site of economic/business weekly
(click "english", top right of the page, for economic data etc. probably still have good news info too, but you got to register/subscribe. english-language newsletter as well.)

I'd rely on the Slovak Spectator for news. Never heard of Radio Slovakia or Slovakia Globe. There are plenty of quasi newspaper printed in the US by the emigrants. Many of them are full of raging nationalism and I would stay away from them. Slovak Embassy in the US has a nice little monthly that sums up events, if you shoot them an email, they will probably be glad to put you on mailing list and on email list about their events. Are you traveling to Slovakia? curious to know how you got interested in Slovakia.

Oh in case it is history you're interested in, I'm going to "dump" one more link in here before I forget ...

"Habsburg" is an academic "discussion network" (read: mailinglist) of high quality, which deals not just with Habsburg times, but also the subsequent history of the various successor states. Very good book reviews, in particular.

Dagmar is right though, of course - we should have waited until you told us more about what you're interested in before we started pelting you with links ... nowadays sorting through the links is the trick, rather than just finding them ...

Yes, there are quite some "papers" (expecially online) which aren't authentic Slovakian (here: produced in Slovakia).

I just thought, Thok was asking news in English from inside Slovakia
