Regardless of what name is chosen, the thought came to mind whether any name chosen has already been used in a commercial application. If so, the copyright infringement laws might come into play, perhaps:
The whole process of choosing a name might be problematic, since a doll could have the name chosen, and that name was copyrighted. In my opinion, the whole question of name choosing in a potentially publishable work needs to be studied. I do not even know if any "disclaimer" satisfies any legal needs?
Perhaps, standard names we give real people would be most appropriate? But then again, the nickname you have chosen might be copyrighted? I'm already getting a headache from such deep thinking. Good luck.
