The best way to get pics of them would be to get a trail camera.
Its a motion activated camera that you can mount in a tree or in a bush. They aren't that expensive and you can get some great shots with them.
The deer in your yard are some great shots. Consider yourself fortunate that you can get them because deer are usually skittish as hell.
The koi pond is beautiful. How much work went in to installing it, or did someone else install it for you?
The pond was no trouble at all. I came home one day 20 years ago and decided to dig it. My yard is easy digging...and I dug it in a couple of hours. My original lining was not so hot...so I had to replace it a couple of years back...but this new lining is super. The landscaping was probably harder...but during the years Nancy and I have done all sorts of things to make it as natural a setting as possible....with lots of plants actually growing in containers in the pond.
As I mentioned, we have had Koi, but they do not weather the winters here very well (even with the heaters)...so we have subunkin and goldfish...although some of them are very decent sized fish.
The lines you see are to stop the herons and egrets from landing in the pond and turning it into a deli! (That has already happened before I installed the lines!)
