Hi, university teaching days are many fewer than high school ones, so are the holidays in summer. During summer at college/uni, teachers shouldn't have any lesson to teach. What things will university/college/departments have them do during these periods?
Research, teach summer schools, among other things.
Some of them will work other jobs, such as conducting a seminar at another institution of higher education. Also, like everyone else, they will probably take some vacation time, just to relax.
