<pat pat pat>
don't be afraid.
you're bigger than it is.
Window surrounds went OK. Need a few supplies at the hardware store in the morning to finish off the rest.
it's kind of fun, isn't it! the results of a tangible project. gotta love it.
Skirting boards are done, touched up the window, all I've got now is the door and surrounds. Just waiting for my brushes to dry to attack that. Then that room is finally finished. Only leaves another 2 bedrooms, the hallway, bathroom, kitchen/dining and living room to go.
I'm aiming on having it finished before Xmas day Margo!
It's finished. Just got to get a friend to help me move a couple of things, put the curtains up and run a vacuum over the floor.
Hey, I just changed out the insides of a toliet today. Got tired of it running on and on and on. Also had to replace the stopper. It finally broke two days ago and had to keep opening it up to get inside to flush. Makes the little lovey dovey happy - now I can get back into bed again (also, got to get a night with the guys and go to the WWF - wow, those pyro technics are awesome). Better get to bed now that I can get off the floor again.
Hi Everyone!!
Wilso,..that's great!!
You must be thrilled to be finished!!
Thrilled that the first of the 6 rooms is finished-subdued happiness would be the best description.
Where are you now Wilso? Which room and how many to go?
I washed the walls of the main bedroom yesterday. Start painting on Sunday.
Actually I kind of like painting it puts me in a trance like state of some sort. And then when everything looks new and clean what a pleasure. But I hate the prep and cleanup part.
The biggest problem here is the weather. Not exactly the climate for working indoors. Pretty hard to get into a trance when sweat is running in your eyes.
Yikes, that does not sound fun at all.
hey, anyone got favourite music for different jobs? i HAVE to listen to reggae when i'm painting walls - the rhythm works for me. i can't stand it when i'm doing tiling - then i need a more jazzy kinda soundtrack to the project.
i wonder what goes with painting and sweat in the eyes?
It's not. It's just plain hard work. But the end result is worth it. The first room looks great.
Well, I'm listening to Jimmy Barnes at the moment. I'll give that a go. But it's more like race track music.
Hey Wilso, I forgot my favorite chunk of advice:
The Before Pictures
When we had a big old house out west I took before pictures of the warped siding, cracked walls and holey kitchen floor.
A F T E R PICTURES are hung right next to before pictures to remind you just how much you've really done.
Good for your head.... Joe
