The synthesized compounds vs the compounds synthesized

The first form is seen very often in the chemical literature. For some reason, it sounds off to me. Can "synthesized" really be adequately used as an adjective in this context? This creates problems in sentences such as "The formed products were studied..." in which "formed products" refers to a specific kind of products instead of just "the products that were formed"...

Most assuredly it can. What makes you think it sounds odd?

I don't see how that creates a problem, gbelange.
