To the extent that Jesus deniers replicate the same techniques as holocaust or GW deniers, and share the same mental processes and self-confirming biases, the scorn is justified.

E.g. "There's a 50/50 chance the holocaust happened" has been used too, ie spreading doubt where there is none is an efficient technique. Nobody likes to be fooled, so many people get hooked on that.

There is ZERO contemporary evidence for your boy Jeebus. There is an overwhelming avalanche of evidence for the slaughter of millions by the Nazis. You truly are despicable. Even the idea that there could possibly be any doubt about Jesus' historicity is dead academically. It's nothing more than a hoax.

Lord so you are of the opinion that daring to question if a real person is bury in two thousands years of Jesus myths is the same as not buying into an event that had happen in my own parents live times where we even have a few survives of that event with us to this very day.

Strange and sick thinking in my opinion.

Important to realize that I am stating facts that anyone can check. All you guys have to do is show me one recent scientific peer-reviewed publication arguing the Jesus non-historicity theory.

Find ONE. It's all you have to do to prove me wrong.

I'll have to go back in the thread to a post y ou have been sedulously ignoring, so you'll have to be patient.

I will point out to you, though, that if i want information about historical figures, i look to historians or specialists the literature of antiquity--not scientiests. Just as i wouldn't ask an historian to explain quantum physics. Maybe that's part of your problem, you don't know what sources to look for.

That seems more then self evidence on it face but please feel free as you are the one who is claiming that there is a real person behind the myth without question to prove that position as you are the one making the claim not the ones here that stated that we do not know one way or another.

There are hundreds if not thousands scientific publications on Jesus every year. Each and everyone of them argue for generally the same sort of preacher figure. I have ALREADY quoted the Jesus Seminar, the largest and most serious attempt of critical analysis of the gospels by secular academics, and they agree with me. There is not much doubt remaining.

Of course, philosophically, and as seen by musing amateurs, things could always have happened differently, for a lot of historical topics, including the holocaust and Jesus. You cannot force someone to believe in something.

Earlier, i provided the citateion for the paper published by Louis Feldman showing that the majority of scholars in the 50 year period 1933-1983 considered the Josephus passages to be in in part or entirely interpolation. You have not responded to that. I wonder why that is.
