Typical??? You might want to rethink that, since American culture differs greatly from one region of the country to another. Compare Texas, New York, Mississippi, Loisiana, vermont, east coast west coast, then figure out the areas that immigrants have settled in, both recent & during early 20th century.

Then think about this, don't ever order fresh seafood in New Mexico and don't expect decent Mexican food on Maryland's eastern shore. Since every citizen of the US came from some other part of the world, culture varies greatly, patriotic values are the same.
