I am helping a foster-owner name a litter of newborn kittens. There are five kittens - two black-and-white, and three black - about two weeks old. Don't yet know how many of each gender. All of the names must be from the same category (example: litter of three. male named Knight, female named Dutchess, female named Princess). Any ideas?
My thanks to anyone who participates!
@jadsiasun96,
I once tried to register a litter of Persian kittens. The mother was Miss Muffin, and one of the first names I thought of was Ragamuffin. Cat Fancier's rejected it as being beneath the dignity of the breed. Ragamuffin became Rugamuffin, then came Blueberry Muffin, and so on.
@jadsiasun96,
How about candy names? Skittles sounds like the perfect name for a high strung little kitty. Snickers for the one with a sense of humor, and so on.
@jadsiasun96,
What about characters from a favourite movie?
@cherrie,
Yeah, like Grumpy, Sneezy, and who were those other little guys.
How about names from Shakespeare? One forum member has a male named Sebastian and a female named Viola. Lots to choose from.
Or Dickens characters.
Dickens characters is an excellent suggestion.
Here are some:
Dodger
Pip
Little Nell
Ebeneezer
Fagin
Bullseye
Oliver
Madame Defarge (perfect for a female cat, I think)
Estella
Mikawber
Nancy
@jadsiasun96,
For the jocular affect, I would name them after the big cats with a prefix of Ms. for girls, and Mr. for boys, i.e., Mr. Lion for a boy kitten, Ms. Panther for a girl kitten.
