Hi English Teachers,
Can I write ‘that’ in the below sentence?
That is being called the ‘biotech moth’ is a modified version of a small moth.
@Loh Jane,
What is being called the biotech moth? I see your example as a sentence fragment, since it seems to lack a subject.
But if you start it as Roger does, it works: "What is being called the 'biotech moth' is a modified version of a small moth." But I don't think that's what he meant.
@MontereyJack,
No, but by crackey, it does work.
@Loh Jane,
Jane, just remove the "is"
