You came when called.

We were hungry,
And you fed us.

Our best bows
Have been strung
With your sinews.

Your beautiful skin
Keeps out the cold
Of the North Winds.

The sun is called to life
With the sacred sound
Of a flute from your bone.

We promise to honor
Your great sacrifice,
Nothing will be wasted.

We live within you
As you live within us.
