i am a widow involved with a widower, wonderful commited relationsip. however he talks about when he retires (about 8 years from now) and moving to be nearer to his children/grandchildren. my children and potential future grandchildren live near me (and where he now lives). i would not want to move away from my children. how do i broach this with him, i do not want to stay in a wonderful relationship for 8 more years and then find he wants to move away. we have been seeing each other for one year but at ages 58 and 61 we know we are commited at this point.

Is there going to be a good enough budget that either or both of you can do lots of traveling? I can't see another solution, and good relationships can be hard to come by.
