I had a sub folder within my inbox folder. I lifted the sub folder into the main one thinking all emails would now appear in the main one but they do not. How do I find them ?

Open the subfolder.
This will work in most mail programs.
If it does not, reply with more information. E. g. which mail program you are using as there are differences.

try to find out the sub folder of your email all the emails are in the sub folder
