Rain Soft Gold Series..not regenerating itself ?

My softner seems to not be regenerating itself it seems.

My gallon counter is working and everything else is normal when I manually regenerate it.

When I go into the rain drop menu and see how many gallons until regeneration it said 648 and then I went to gallons used it was at 842, do these softners have a sensor in them that monitors water quality or are they supposed to regenerate on the # of gallons used ?

Is the # for gallons until regeneration a ballpark figure and would it be normal to go 200 gallons past ?

If not what could be wrong here ?

@efed,

It looks like your softener is set to regenerate after processing 1490 gallons.
Keep an eye on the 'gallons until regeneration' as they count down and see what happens.

@H2O MAN,
I do not have a "gallons to regeneration" count down, as per the pwork you sent me which seems to correspond to my softner I have an "expected gallon usage" mode and the only counter (number that changes) is the" gallons currently used". The "expected gallon usage" number does not change, should it ?
Thanks as always for the quick response.

@efed,
Same thing, it's counting down the gallons currently used until it regenerates.
The expected usage number remains unchanged.

@H2O MAN,
I get what you are saying, but the only "counter" I have is the "gallons used" that is the only changing number as water is used, the gallons untill regeneration # does not count down. Also just wondering why would my estimated gallon usage # be 642 I believe and you said its set to regenerate at like 1200 (rough #), what's the point of the feature of gall. To regen. If its off so much ? Thanks again

@efed,

I never altered any of the factory settings and don't have an answer for
that question... you may need to contact RainSoft factory support.

What I would do is make note of all pertinent readings, manually
initiate regeneration and recheck the readings after it's done.

I wish I could offer you more assistance.

@H2O MAN,
Thanks , I guess I will wait untill I reach the 1200 gallons you spoke about and see if it regenerates itself, if it winds up not regenerating itself at all do you have any clue what it could be........?
Thanks
