I have a small oil painting of a man playing the mandolin to a young girl inside a cottage signed by Glaze, that my Dad brought back from Europe in WW2. It appears to be very old, possible mid 19th century, guessing by the clothing style. I'm trying to find out a little about the artist. Google turns up nothing, but Google is confused by the name and turns up a lot of glazing techniques etc. I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of a painter by the name of Glaze? I could attach a picture of the painting if that would help identify it.

@robb2004,
That looks sort of familiar but I don't know.

Are you sure that is even a painting?

@ossobuco,
I'm pretty sure it's an oil painting. It's on a canvas and is glazed over. I never really looked that closely at it before but I just noticed how there is brown kind of smudged over the guys head and above the cupboard and also to the right and below the chair.
