medicine is not a place for you free market lovers to make your case as the problem with our system is that the market is not allowed to work. the person ordering and/approving the deal is not the one who pays the bill, and this flaw is responsible for over 40 cents of every dollar spent being wasted on defensive medicine, useless procedures, expensive unneeded technology and unneeded drugs. If the market were operating this would not be happening because people would elect to put the money into something of value instead.
