After being aggravated by the huge chunk that taxes would take out of my payout, I would purchase luxury apartments and homes in various parts of the globe and spend my time moving between them, on my private jet, as my mood, the weather, and the social/cultural scene dictated. I would be known for throwing lavish parties and the coddling of my many guests, which, of course, would include an A2K contingent.

Now I better remember to buy a ticket tomorrow.

More of a fan of smooth transition myself rather than be one to have a sudden change in lifestyle.

It's no longer $425 million. It's $500+ million now. All answers to this thread are now irrelevant and wrong due to inflation.

@tsarstepan,
Well, since it's now $500+ million, I think I'd like a yacht, in addition to my private jet. Perfect for the first, official, all-expenses paid A2K cruise.

Luxury Yachts – The world’s wealthiest sea-goers travel in the ultimate luxury. Their huge luxury yachts feature helipads, multiple swimming pools, a full staff and the latest in nautical technology.

$90 million – Le Grand Bleu
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/le-grand-bleu-yacht.jpg
From one Russian billionaire to another, the 370-foot Le Grand Bleu was reportedly gifted to Eugene Shvidler from its previous owner, Roman Abramovich — a name that sails on further down the list. Built in Germany’s Vulkan yard and launched in 2000, Le Grand Blue is grand indeed, setting out with a pair of 3,600-horsepower Wärtsilä engines, a crew of 50 and an onboard 74-foot sailboat and 67-foot speedboat.

$100 million – Tatoosh
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/tatoosh-yacht.jpg
The 301-foot Tatoosh is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, a secretive kind of guy, who is said to bar reporters from coming aboard. The mega-yacht supposedly has its own theater, swimming pool and lobster tank and obviously has landing pads for two helicopters.

$116 million – Alysia
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/alysia-yacht.jpg
The 280-foot sister ship of the Annaliesse, the Alysia is the slightly prettier of the pair. The ship’s 1,300 square-foot master stateroom comes with its own private deck, jacuzzi, marble decked bathroom and California king-size bed. Elevators whisk guest through five decks, which include a sundeck with barbecue, a bar, an 8-person hot tub, spa, gym, salon and a 500-bottle wine cellar. Can’t stand the wine, pampering, massages and endless tanning? — make an underwater escape with a pair of “scuba scooters.”

If the jackpot keeps going up, I might be able to consider some of the pricier ones...

$200 million – Rising Sun
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/rising-sun-yacht.jpg
The 453-foot Rising Sun is co-owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and famed producer David Geffen. The five-story boat has 82 rooms and more than 24,000 square-feet of living space. Highlights include onyx countertops, 9,900 square-feet of teak-layered decking, a movie theater and a basketball court/helipad.

$210 million – Lady Moura
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/lady-moura-yacht.jpg
At 354-feet long, the Lady Moura is a big woman built in 1991 by “order” of Saudi Saudi Prince Nasser al-Rashid. So large it has trouble entering the harbor of Monte Carlo, the mega-yacht reportedly has a crew of 60, a pool with a retractable roof and its very own mock beachfront complete with sand.

$350 Million – Dubai
http://stylecrave.frsucrave.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/dubai-yacht.jpg
Owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, the 531-foot Dubai has interiors designed by Philippe Starck, space for 115 guests and 88 crew members, six guest suites and five VIP suites — all with open balconies. Interior spaces are channeled towards a “massive” foyer and atrium that connects each of the mega-yacht’s eight deck. Outside, the ship hosts a large pool, squash court, helipad and a small aircraft hanger.

I think I better buy two Powerball tickets. Smile

@firefly,
Here, I'll give you enough to buy a few more tickets. I like your accommodations for A2K guests MUCH better than edgar's ... (cheapskate)

I would pay my sister's medical bills. It won't happen because I didn't buy a ticket.

@firefly,
Those boats are all nice but they require crews and lots of ongoing maintenance **** and serviices services. If you really like the sea you would want a boat you can pilot yourself. Like a Hinkley Tellaria 65.

HAving all the money you need doesnt mean you hve to chnge your pursuits

I like comfy and cozy in my vboats, not ostentatious.

As for my personal life, I would likely become a world traveler for a time. Pipe dreams, I know, but it's a nice diversion to amuse myself with.

Welcome to the Hinkley experience.

I'll skip the Hinkley experience. I remember the Hinkley experience that Ronald Reagan got a little while back. I rather not go through that myself.

@edgarblythe,
The difference between the odds of buying a winning lottery ticket and finding a wining lottery ticket blowing across a parking lot just isn't that much.

They are now selling tickets at the rate of 105,000 per minute.

Taken as a lump sum, the current payout would be about $337 million. After taxes, you'd get about $220 million, depending on which state you live in.

I still have to buy a ticket...

Finally went out and got my ticket--3 of them.

The entertainment value of the fantasies, and the excitement value, is worth the $6.

And, who knows, I might win. Smile

What always gets me is how people go ape for a huge jackpot like this one, but act as though the lesser pots are not covet-worthy. As though nobody really needs that one or two million dollar pot. Chump change, as it were.

@edgarblythe,
Let's congradulate ourselves on not wasting our money when somebody else was going to win, anyway.

Want to bet both winners are eating their hearts out because they had to split the winnings?
