DROID 2 PROBLEM, PLEASE HELP

My Droid 2 has been fading in and out from a dull and bright screen when I slide the keyboard at certain points for a long time now. I've been able to adapt with the low brightness unless I am out doors. I woke up this morning, my phone had been charging over night, but now my screen is completely black and will only show the Motorola symbol when turned on for about 3 seconds than it trickles away into a black screen. I have obviously came to the conclusion that it is a wiring problem inside the phone since the brightness is activated by different slides of the phone. I was wondering if anyone may know how I can get it to go back to the dim screen I had before, or even normal, my phone is basically useless without a screen. Help?
