So a friend of mine asks me to do a 2 hour dog walk dj thing yesterday morning. I worked late Friday and had a late gig last night and didn't want to do it but he had a chance to do a big wedding (which I also loaned him lights for) so I said I'd do it for him as a favor. It was only 11 to 1, two hours, and his sound system was there so all I had to do was plug and play. It was only 125.00 which I normally wouldn't start my truck for but I was trying to be helpful to a friend. So I get there and find out I'm supposed to be there 4.5 hours. I explained to the girl I couldn't do that as I had another show to set up for. She got shitty, like this foul up had something to do with me, and informed me that even if I stayed the two hours she wasn't paying any more than the 50.00 deposit she'd already given. She then had the gall to look at me and say in an imperious tone, like I was her illegal immigrant gardener, "This is a charity". I replied "Honey last week I did a benefit show for a woman dying of brain cancer. THAT'S a charity. This is raising money to cut a dog's balls off", and I left. Now my friend, the author of this cluster **** wants to give the lady her 50.00 back and is furious because I insist that's MY money and I want it. I was contracted two hours for 125.00. I showed up, was playing music on time and held up my end. That other **** is their problem not mine. Give me my ******* money and be lucky I'm not demanding the full amount. Oh and sweetheart, don't ******* patronize me. People. There's no end to them.

A friend in need is - one to be careful of. He had to do something to become needy like that. Or something.

The guy IS a friend of mine and our friendship will withstand this small amount of money hopefully, but business is business and I don't take kindly to having my money fucked with even if it's only a little money.
