should i use Mann-Whitney Test?If yes,then how? If no,what should i use??

I wanted to compare two different groups of data, for example : the hardness value(numerical data) between material A & material B? just wondering which test i should use... Thanks!

Is the hardness value a continuous variable? How much data do you have? If you have a sufficient sample size (n>=20) you can use a two sample t-test if it's reasonable to assume the data are normally distributed.
