Clean laundry

Good dinner

Smell of grass and earth in the air after the rain has stopped.

Riding downhill on a bicycle not holding the handlebars.

Being greeted by loving cats and snuggling with them at night time. Watching them play or stretch out in the sunshine.

Clean house.

Finding a book I can't wait to get back to and continue reading.

Public holidays.

Finding a tv series I love.

Laughing.

Finding someone who gets my humour and digressions effortlessly.

Looking bloody ok.

Great cup of coffee.

Badinage.

Knowing the house is stocked with good food.

Clean and sensuous cotton bed linen.

This is not just a small pleasure, it's a sine qua non of dropping contentedly off to sleep.

Discovering a good new TV show.
Getting one more shave out of a blade.
Finding a tool I thought was lost.
Seeing new photos of the kids and grand kids.

having a full grown cat lie your you hip while you're sleeping, in the same place he did when he weighed less than a pound.

Dogs greeting you when you get home.

Finding a treasure of a restaurant

Having that perfect cup of coffee

The doctor being on time for your appointment

Having no cavities

Having grandchildren snuggle up with you

Listening to oldies

Finding $ in your old jeans

Walking on a newly washed floor in your bare feet

Love that one.

Also - seeing little chipmunk running around on our deck

little routines - ie every morning before I leave for work, I go to my 4th grader still sleeping all snuggled and give her a kiss and say "I love you to the moon and back" which in sleepy voice "I love you to the sun and back"

Whipping up the shaving soap foam to just the right consistency.
Steaming the milk foam for my cappuccino to just the right consistency.

Seeing a great blue heron on the Concord

I pray you don't confuse the two.

Fitting into last year's jeans.
A good comment on my blog.
Neighborhood dogs at the dog park (the happiest place on Earth) play bowing at me as I walk by.
Seeing wild turkeys while out and about.
Teeth after a good flossing.
The first moment that the feet are in the fuzzy slippers.

Not sure I'd see this as a pleasure - in my case, it's almost disabling!

One good chocolate bon bon. I used to like Sjaak's but they changed recipes and I haven't tried those. Also loved the chocolates at a small shop/bar in Parma, It. In lieu of getting there again, I'll choose a virtual chocolate tour of New York City.

Next, a good olive.
My last favorites were the lemon picholines at Oakville Grocery in Healdsburg, CA.

A good iced coffee. Had one in Arezzo - a martini glass with espresso on the bottom, a layer of espresso crema above that, a layer of ice chips and then turbinado sugar above that - wow.

Next, a glass of good scotch, like Laphroig or Talisker. 'Tis been a long time since I had one of those - almost twenty years. Those are pricy.

Finally, a good gelato. That's what I need to perk me up, a gelateria tour of Italy. Even just in Rome I've a list of places I need to try.

You're not an easy gal to please.
Most of your small pleasures require airline tickets!

Bed! I love my bed and look forward to stretching out in it from the minute supper is over.

Phone calls from my daughters just to say hi

Walking through the French Quarter with Mr B early in the morning

The first [strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, cherry, peach, plum, apple, pear, orange, grapefruit] of the season, whichever is in season.

On a less picky note,

putting my feet in the Pacific Ocean

having clean hair

a certain dog licking my hands

hearing from my niece

No wonder I'm so grumpy.
