Very Small Life Pleasures

kinda takes the pleasure outta it, huh...

I just completed by travel blog on my recent vacation @ www.travelpod.com/members/c.i.222.

Nice sane visit to the grocery store - that's the small pleasure. I bought a good looking eggplant, a batch of garlic bulbs, sack of yukon gold potatoes, grapes, paper necessities - and a six pack of Pacifico beer (I hardly ever drink beer, but I'm sentimental about that one in the summertime) and a package of cheapola tortilla chips (it's been three months, give or take). This is the opposite of a craft ale, but delicious on a hot day in Mexico, or Los Angeles, or now New Mexico. Will be tossing together some salsa forthwith.



Pig out to commence while I follow baseball and golf and make some potstickers.


My dog is happy today, but that's not a small pleasure.

When I first moved into Manhattan, I lived on a side street near the East River. The tenants on the street formed a block association and held street fairs to raise money for projects.

We added security measures, and we planted trees. This was close to forty years ago. I was recently on that block. The trees are no longer twigs. They are glorious, shade-giving greenery. Hey, I did that.

after a long hot sweaty day on the bike, a long hot shower. don't tell squinney I peed in the tub while I was showering. Another of life's little pleasures.
