strange macabre oil painting - any ideas please ?

The cars look like they are 1938 or 1939 ages.

looks like a mob hit and they are getting ready to bury the bodies.

Thanks - I thought it looked like a sort of Gangster shooting too . I found it in a' bootsale 'here in Wales uk (the guy who sold it to me is a builder and he found it in a cupboard of an old house he renovated about 10 years ago in a local town called Narberth)- He thought it was ww2 - but I thought it looked more like a playground -with what could be the base of an old round-about in the mid-right -and the clothing could be 30s baseball maybe ?.
It was the strangest thing I have ever seen in a booty -lying there with all the usual toys, tools , books etc. I love mysteries so Im now on a quest to find out what it is -and why it ended up here !

I thought of some sort of "war of the worlds" alien attack, or maybe some sort of plague rapidly killing everybody right where they stand.

It looked to me more like the middle of a street.

You might want to see if there is anywhere in Narberth that actually resembles the depicted location.

There is probably a way to bring out the writing, like viewing it under ultraviolet light, or taking an infrared picture of the writing, or something similar to that.

Maybe having an expert examine the writing under a microscope would work.

I can see that - I think the cars is what made me think of mob hit. They remind me of the cars you would see in old Mob movies.
