What is your favorite bottled water?

So, what is your favorite bottled water? Do you drink bottled water, straight tap water, or filtered tap water? Do you refill a plastic or metal bottle with tap water? Do you trust your water source? Or do you skip water altogether and go the Pilgrim way and imbibe only beer?

At work and basically wherever I go with my book bag, I refill and carry with me my steel (?) water bottle and have been using it for almost 3 years.

Poland Springs is a tad too sweet with its higher then average calcium content. But I'll drink it if I have to. I refuse to drink Dasani or Aquafina if I have a choice.

If I had to buy a bottle of water, my favorite is Ty Nant:

@Region Philbis,
16.9 is an odd size for a water bottle. Razz

@Rockhead,
Rockhead? Is your tap water undrinkable or just unpalatable? To schlep several 5 gallon water bottles back and forth from home to store seems a pain in the tuchus.... Neutral

in the alternative I use this with plain tap water or still bottled water from the same pharmacy as the citrus flavoured water

It's a Polish mineral water that comes in 1.5L bottles (flat or carbonated).

I use Brita filters for NYC tap water. As a kid, lived in Inwood, upper Manhattan. Tap water was delicious in our apartment, and even better in my Grandmother's place one block away. (Of course, my Grandma was an exceptional cook.) When I lived in Brooklyn, the water was vile.

When I first moved into my present apartment in Queens the water was fine. Over the years it's been fouled with strong chlorine smell The filter takes care of that problem. On the go, I carry a 32 oz steel water bottle. At home I keep bottled water-24 pack of whatever was on sale , Nestle. Just for emergencies.

@tsarstepan,
Gerolsteiner first, Apollinaris next, San Pellegrino after that; they're all 'con gas', all have a fair amount of minerals - I've a link for all that that I'll dig up. When I drink mineral water, I never have any leg/foot cramps - it's sort of similar to eating your bananas re potassium et al. I'm not a big pill taker, rather have my vitamins and minerals from food/liquids.

I'm not interested in sweet water, except that sometimes when I add a bunch of squeezed lime juice to tap water I'll add a half tsp of sugar.

For walking New York, I'd probably use tap water, but I don't know the state of the water system there.

What I now hate (didn't used to) is any Schweppes product, like tonic water. Gahhhhh.

Ah, here are a couple of links one can chase around:

An interesting link - re magnesium

Different waters for different folks, eh?

@ossobuco,
Adds, for ordinary water I use the tap water here. It needs filtering, and I even have the filter. What I need is a new faucet to add the filter onto. That's on the wish list.

@ossobuco,
I dislike/hate mineral water especially sparkling. Can't stand the evil bitterness.

New York City usually gets very good reviews in terms of municipal water supply. It ranks 14th place out of 100. Not bad:
Quote:
Big City Water Ratings

EWG rated big city (population over 250,000) water utilities based on three factors: the total number of chemicals detected since 2004; the percentage of chemicals found of those tested; and the highest average level for an individual pollutant, relative to legal limits or national average amounts, including for the most common pollutants (disinfection byproducts, nitrate and arsenic).

@tsarstepan,
I drink filtered tap water. If I want to take water with me somewhere, I fill a bottle with water from that tap.

I find the unfiltered water from my tap almost unpalatable. We get a yearly water analysis from our local government, and while the levels on some things, like lead, are not considered "unsafe", they are still too close to that level to make me feel comfortable. Filtering the tap is an easy solution.
