Thanks Reg. I found a link, “a2k Forum,” but when I clicked on it all I got was a page labeled “a2k Forum Forum” containing a single entry, mine: ”a2k Forum”

Just not in tune with the 21st century I guess

Wow! That's dizzying like walking onto an MC Escher painting.

@oralloy,
Thanks Ora

But why would anyone using a2k tag a thread “a2k”
Would it be for instance a thread that discusses a2k

Yes. Threads about a2k would likely be tagged "a2k" and/or "able2know".

Threads about regular posters are also sometimes tagged "a2k" and/or "able2know" (also "community").

When a new poster introduces themselves, it is frequently tagged "a2k", "community", and "introductions".

(These days though, such an "introduction" is usually a spammer preparing to strafe the site.)

Thank you Ora for that rundown

What is a spammer and how does he strafe

A spammer is someone who posts spam.

Spam is annoying and unwanted posts (usually crudely written) advertising commercial products.

If the moderators didn't delete them, there would likely be about 200 spam posts here for every legitimate post.

Strafe usually means to fire a machinegun at a target from a moving vehicle or aircraft and then speed away. Spammers usually dive in and make a rapid series of posts and then take off.

@oralloy,
Thanks again Ora, very interesting

Would you classify all those doubly underlined words as a sort of spam

@dalehileman,

no, it's advertising that helps pay for the site -- much like the banner ads at the bottom of the page...
