Anyone remember when only smart people had a pc?

Anyone remember when only smart people had a pc? Back in the 80's when rednecks, posers, unemployed people ... could not possibly afford a souped up 386 for 3000 dollars? Only engineers, and engineering students had computers, or even computer access to a mainframe in a college?

Very few idiots had a computer. Has anyone notices now common petty criminals have a pc, common high school dropouts have a pc, stalkers, trolls on welfare, convicted child molesters ... all have a pc. Has anyone else noticed the decay in the computer geek universe?
