@ossobuco,
31-24 and Pats just now sacked QB for first time in game. Good ole
mo-mentum swings.

@Ragman,
I'm following one of the 49er blog columnists, considerable agita' going on.
Quoting Kevin Lynch -
Epic collapse by the 49ers defense in the second half. After going up 31-3 after scoring on the first drive of the second half, the 49ers then went three and out on their next five drives, and the Patriots scored on long touchdown drives on their next four marches.
The Patriots went 92 yards in seven plays, then 66 yards in six plays, 86 yards in nine plays and 73 yards in 13 plays going from last to first.
49ers responded with a one play drive for six, set up by LaMichael James long kickoff return. The 49ers have to show a little defense now even though they are without Justin Smith. The 49ers look exhausted on defense.

@ossobuco,
Whew! Good to the last drop. Great game 'til the very end.

Congrats to the 49ers. You took it to them and beat the Pats in their home field. Their was that collapse by their D, but SF showed amazing level of character and won in the end.

I got a feeling these 2 teams will meet again in the last game of the year.

@ossobuco,

pates dug themselves too great a hole to climb out of, and reverted back to the mediocre mistake-prone team we saw early in the year.

neither defense impressed me last night...

@Region Philbis,
The defenses certainly weren't consistant. If you like offense, surpises and drama, there was plenty.

I can't recall a stranger or more interesting season for the whole of the NFL. Apparently 13 of 15 games had wins of greater than 7 points.

@Region Philbis,
I couldn't shut it off or doze off...for a minute and it ended after midnight. Selfishly, I wanted a game between them that went to the last play and this one did.

JPLosman, JohnBoy and Tico are 11-3 and have the Patriots and Jets.
So if the Jets win, there'll be a five-way tie.

@George,
Even though I picked the Jets, if the Jets win, we'll all need helmets 'cause pigs will be flying.

Wait, wait...it's all moot a point as the end of the world will be on 12/21.

@Ragman,
If Tennessee wins Rhys (final score 31-21 = 52) and Liontamerx (41) will tie at 11-3. The "dividing line" in total points projected to be scored is 46.5 which means if 46 or fewer points are scored Lion wins while Rhys will win if total points scored are 47 or more.
Should New York win there will be a 5-way tie. Johnboy believes total points scored will be 37. JPLosman says 40, Lion is at 41, Rhys 52 and Tico 58.
JPLosman has a very small window, right?

I meant Rhys and Lion would be 13-3, of course.

@ All [... and just where the hell is the "Reply All" button?]

I'm not sure we're going to get to finish out this next week's games ... according to the weather forecast it's going to be a real scorcher on Friday ...

@Rockhead,
It was actually mighty cold on Saturday, as I stood out in the downpour coaching my son's soccer game on the only soccer field in town that had not been closed due to the the rain. I thought I was back in Kansas!

I understand "mighty cold" is a relative term ...

@Ticomaya,
if it was raining, it is likely you were not in Kansas.

it doesn't much do that here any longer.

I have cactus growing in the front yard.

I can't help wondering how this is your fault...

@Rockhead,
Yeah, I think we've gotten more rain than you guys, lately. We had some snow in the high country this past weekend.
